Root Canal Treatment Friendswood
Stopping Dental Pain without Delay

Every tooth is made up of layers. While much focus centers around the tooth enamel (the outermost area), it’s important not to forget about what lies beneath. Within the centralized portion of a tooth is the pulp – an area consisting of nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue. If it becomes infected or damaged at any point, root canal treatment is the only way Dr. A can alleviate discomfort and save your tooth from extraction. You can do something about your tooth pain; there’s no need to wait! Call to schedule an appointment with our office today.

What Happens During a Root Canal?

Root canals are not scary or painful procedures. Instead, they are worthwhile solutions that keep infected teeth from having to be removed.
When preparing for a root canal, Dr. A will begin by numbing your mouth using local anesthesia. The use of The Wand will help make this step more comfortable so that you do not feel any “pinch.” After isolating your tooth, he will enter through the crown and begin clearing out all diseased tissues. Once he reaches the pulp, he will remove it from the chamber and begin sanitizing the inner tooth.
He will then fill it with gutta-percha, a biocompatible material, before sealing the tooth and having a customized dental crown fitted to restore structure and strength.
